Accounts & permissions

Creating an account

Register with a username, password, and email:

  • Username — 3–64 characters: letters (including accented and Hangul), numbers, and _, ., -, or spaces.
  • Password — at least 8 characters.
  • Email — required, and must be verified before you can contribute. Disposable / temporary-email domains are rejected.

You're signed in immediately after registering, but your account starts unverified.

Email verification

A verification link is emailed to you (valid for 24 hours; you can resend it from the verify-email page). Until you verify:

  • You can read pages and use Show preview while editing.
  • You can't save. Verification gates every write action — creating or editing pages, uploading files, reverting revisions, renaming pages, starting or replying in discussions, watching a page, and editing your bio.

Groups & permissions

Every account starts in the user group. Curator and sysop are granted in the admin panel by existing curators or sysops.

Curators, deletion & templates

Curators have full access to the admin panel and can grant or revoke both the curator and sysop groups. Deleting a page is a curator action in the web UI, and it's reversible — a deleted page shows a tombstone with an Undelete button (and an offer to start a fresh page at that title). Only sysops may edit the reserved template / helper pages. (The JSON API also exposes a permanent delete for sysops — that one can't be undone.)

Sessions use secure, http-only cookies — a 1-hour access token that's silently refreshed for up to 7 days, so you stay logged in without re-entering your password.
